They will try to hold your domain hostage if you try to transfer service and make every attempt to persuade you to do it the way they "recommend" so it can be done quicker- aka give them access to your desired new host. And byou have to contact them by phone to even get that far. Otherwise, they'll claim your request is "being reviewed" and they can't predict how long it will take. Since when does an owner or administrator need permission to move their domain? It's a crock and they're a mess.

I have been with Doteasy for 14 years (from 2006) My site gradually but surely started to slow down and "resource limit exceeded"
So I upgraded, this worked ok for a year the again "resource limit exceeded"
So I upgraded yet again (2GB RAM and DUAL CORE) and this worked well for 3 HOURS then again "resource limit exceeded"
During these upgrades my site has dropped in visits/traffic by more than 5 times it was for 8 years because its so slow and most of the times its off line anyway.

Each time I querie the "resource limit exceeded" they have elaborate excuses such as website coding, Google Bots and other rubbish excuses
If my site has 5 or more visitors at the same time then "resource limit exceeded"

It is so bad than you cannot even FTP because "maximum allowed users"

I can guarantee if I get business hosting I will get "resource limit exceeded"

I have tested this service last month and now i can't cancel service! Support don't reply! stay away from it!

Stay away from DOT easy for Domains. DO NOT BUY THEM AT A DISCOUNT FROM THEM as they violate CIRA Regulations for domain transfers to other registrars to force you to renew your domain with them then allow you to transfer after 60 days after you pay them a fee.

CIRA REGULATIONS ARE CLEAR ON THE MATTER. Section 3.5 of the CIRA Registration Agreement that allows domain owners to move their domains at any time without limitation.

They switch systems last year and manage to lock me out of my member zone account. I had to mail a notarized letter and a copy of my passport in order to request my login information that they had change on me and sent to an expired email account. I had been a customer for 13 years and one day I'm locked out. After I recovered it, I decided I wanted to change providers because of the awful customer service and was told I had to wait 60 days before I could make changes. 60 days have passed, I have repeated requested to unlock my domain to change registrars and they still have not unlocked it. I've been talking to their customer service for two days for a simple thing like unlocking the domain.

I have bought a domain but it has been “pending” for two days. Stay away from this company. I have read so many bad reviews about them.

after 17 years these individuals have figured out how to scam their clients by submitting fraudulent charges to credit cards without authorization when you least expect it.
They have multiple domains "reselling" same services and will attempt to extort money after taking control of your domain. I finally recovered and was able to transfer my last remaining 2 domains healingtv.org and lawtelevision.org to an AMERICAN trustworthy company. However this does not stop these crooks from attempting to make weekly fraudulent attempts to charge my credit card WITHOUT PERMISSION for services never requested.

The took me for several hundred dollars and kept my domains hostage for 6 months and 2 months.

I would stay away from ANY CANADIAN internet registrar / host. Canada is well aware of Chinese foreign nationals committing fraud and refuse to stop it. The BBB is also well aware and there are plenty of buried terrible reviews which the scammers companies Principals Kevin Tang and Johnathan Wong make sure to bury on search engines with false fake web review sites and fake reviews.

Don't be fooled for you may be a victim and don't even know it. they are slick as the scum on a bottom of a grease vat. beware!!!!!!!
